A small well-known pub in the centre of Andover was the birthplace of the Thrashers back in Dec 03. A meeting between two enthusiasts Dave Scott & Andy Mountain led to the discussion and subsequent forming of what was to eventually be called the Andover Thrashers. The teams first training session took place in Jan 04 with a handful of local guys getting together for an informal training session. For the remainder of that year, the Thrashers took part in several flag tournaments including a home match against Team England, which the Thrashers won 16-12. All of these games gave the squad plenty of chances to gain the basic skills required for the transition to fully kitted. In Dec 04, the league application was entered, and the team officially joined the BAFL.

The first season proved to be a baptism of fire for the new Andover team unfortunately finding themselves in a division full of established and well organised sides. The first season proved to be a winless affair, but Andover quickly established themselves with a reputation for fair play and huge heart. Many of the regular Andover players found themselves playing iron man football and being on the field the entire season. Despite failing to register a win, Andover gained huge experience from the first season both on and off the field. The reputation of Andover was highlighted with the BAFL Rookie Of The Year Award being presented to linebacker Phil Price who had a phenomenonal first season.

The Thrashers second season fulfilled most of the promise shown in their first season. The first win was registered and the team was never left scoreless. The season ended with a 5-5 record, in fact they were only to lose to playoff bound teams. The team has gone from strength to strength and look forward to competing at the highest level of Division 2 in the BAFL in 2007.
